1. Booking & Paying for Your Tour
- A booking is confirmed once you have paid the full payment and we have sent you written confirmation.
- Prices are listed in the currency shown on our website or invoice.
- Payment must be made in full before your tour date unless otherwise stated.
- Any bank charges, transfer fees, or currency conversion costs are your responsibility.
- You are responsible for providing accurate contact information so we can reach you about your booking.
- We are not responsible for costs outside your booking with us (e.g., local transport, communication fees, accommodation).
2. Bookings Through Third-Party Resellers
If you book one of our tours through a third-party resellers, such as a travel agent, online travel agency (OTA), or other platform, please note that:
- These Terms and Conditions still apply to your booking and participation in the tour.
- You may have additional terms or policies from the reseller that also apply, so please review those carefully.
- We recommend contacting both the reseller and us directly if you have questions, want to make changes, or need to cancel.
- In case of any conflict between the reseller’s policies and ours, our Terms and Conditions govern your relationship with us regarding the tour itself.
3. Cancellations and Changes
- Our Cancellation Policy explains how to cancel, how refunds work, and any fees that may apply.
- If you need to change your booking, we will do our best to help, but changes are subject to availability and may require an additional fee.
- We try very hard not to cancel or change tours, but sometimes an unpredictable situation such as weather, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control result in a change. If we cancel your tour, you will receive a full refund or can move your booking to another date.
4. Health and Safety
- Our tours are guided by a stringent Health and Safety policy and practices. Please read a summary of our Health and Safety policy before your tour.
- You are responsible for your own health and travel insurance. We recommend insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical care, personal belongings, and unexpected changes.
- If you have food allergies, diet requirements, or mobility issues, please tell us when booking so we can advise if the tour is suitable. Check our FAQs for more information on accessibility.
5. Travel Documents & Legal Requirements
- You are responsible for ensuring you have valid travel documents, visas, and vaccinations required for the tour location.
- We cannot offer refunds if you are denied entry to a country or location due to incomplete or incorrect travel documents.
6. Liability & Assumption of Risk
Our tours are designed to be authentic, immersive experiences. They often take place in community settings, private households, local markets, and other spaces we do not own or operate. While we carefully choose our partners and venues, we do not control these environments and cannot guarantee their condition or safety standards.
Some parts of your tour may involve transport provided by third-party operators (e.g., taxis, vans, or private hire vehicles). We do not own or operate these vehicles and are not responsible for their maintenance, operation, or driver conduct.
By booking and participating in a tour, you understand and accept that:
- Community & Household Environments: Conditions may differ from what you are used to, including varying levels of sanitation, open cooking fires, crowded conditions, road and walkway conditions, and safety standards.
- Third-Party Transport: We are not responsible for the safety, operation, or maintenance of vehicles not owned or operated by us.
- Cultural & Environmental Conditions: You may encounter uneven ground, steps, narrow walkways, animals, variable weather, or food allergens, all of which carry inherent risks.
- Personal Responsibility: You are responsible for:
- Following safety instructions from our guides and third-party providers.
- Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear.
- Informing us before your tour of any food allergies, diet requirements, or mobility issues.
- Voluntary Participation: Your participation is voluntary and at your own risk. You accept personal responsibility for your health, safety, and belongings.
We are liable only for loss, damage, or injury directly caused by our negligence or failure to perform our contractual duties with reasonable care. We are not liable for:
- Incidents in premises or vehicles we do not own or control,
- The actions or omissions of third parties, or
- Risks that are inherent to travel and cultural experiences.
We strongly recommend that you have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, accidents, personal belongings, and trip interruptions.
7. Responsible Tourism
- We follow our Responsible Tourism Policy which supports local communities and respects cultural heritage.
- Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards local people, guides, and other guests. We reserve the right to remove any guest from a tour if their behavior is unsafe or disruptive, without a refund.
- Child Protection: We are committed to safeguarding children. Guests must not engage in any behavior that could be considered inappropriate, exploitative, or harmful towards children. Any such conduct will result in removal from the tour and may be reported to local authorities.
8. Photography & Media
- We may take photos or videos during tours for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to appear in these, please let us know before your tour starts.
- If you take photos of guides, local people, or other guests, please ask permission first.
- Photography of Children: Taking photographs of children during the tour is only permitted with the prior consent of their parent or guardian.
9. Privacy
- We handle your personal information according to our separate Privacy Policy.
10. Force Majeure (Events Beyond Our Control)
- We are not responsible for delays, cancellations, or changes caused by events outside our control, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, political unrest, or public health emergencies.
11. Governing Law
- If your tour is operated by Jiranileo LLC (USA), these terms are governed by the laws of the state of Delaware in the United States.
- If your tour is operated by Jiranileo Tourism Limited (Zambia), these terms are governed by the laws of Zambia.
12. Acceptance of Terms
- By booking with us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions as well as our separate policies.
13. Complaints, Questions, and Feedback
- During Your Tour: If you have a concern or question during your tour, please tell your guide immediately so we can address it on the spot.
- After Your Tour: If you are still unsatisfied, please contact us in writing within 7 days of your tour so we can investigate and respond.
- Feedback & Reviews: We welcome feedback at any time, whether it’s a suggestion for improvement or a positive story to share.
